Laka Leke Restaurant, Ubud

After our dinner at Naughty Nuri’s, we decided to explore nearby restaurants around our hotel area. We stumbled upon Laka Leke Restaurant (that also catered for the hotel we stayed) and decided to have a quick supper.

Hot Chocolate, IDR 12,500 (~RM 4.50)

The hot chocolate was tastefully rich. Too bad it came in a small cup. See the plate of peanuts behind the drink? They’re very addictive and if you manage to find them in Bali, do bring them home with you!

Fresh fruit salad, IDR 15,000 (~RM 5.20)

Since we had too much meat without any vegetables, we decided to have some fruits for better digestion. There’s nothing special about this bowl of salad – actually I think the term “salad” was misused here because it was a bowl of fruits.

My friend tried their carrot orange soup (yes, soup!) & it was actually not bad. I never pictured how my 2 of my favourite combination of fruit juice tasted like in boiled soup but .. really, it’s worth a try for a different taste!

Naughty Nuri’s Warung, Ubud

I was in Bali with some friends over the weekend & had a great experience from our 5 days trip. Before we went, I prepared a list of restaurants which we must try from reading reviews from various weblogs & TripAdvisor. Due to certain circumstances, we didn’t manage to try all of them but we did go for Naughty Nuri’s Warung while we were staying in Ubud.

Majority of the customers who go to Naughty Nuri’s are Asian tourists and there are limited tables for big groups so you might have to share a table with other diners. We managed to get a table for ourselves inside the warung where it had very bad ventilation (we smelled like bbq meat after that!).

The menu’s on the wall and you can order various meat – pork sausages, pork ribs, chicken, fish, etc. We ordered bbq chicken, pork ribs, pork sausages, and wedges.

I think we waited at most 10 minutes for everything to arrive. The first bite I took was the sausage and it was so tasty! I was excited to try the rest so I took the ribs. I swear there was an explosion of juiciness from the ribs each time I take a bite and I have to admit it, it’s the best pork ribs I have ever tasted. Can’t say much about the chicken though – it tasted ordinary to me.

We ordered another rack of ribs, another plate of sausages & wedges. Mind you, there were only 3 of us and I was surprised how we managed to eat all of them.

Albeit the scrumptious meal we had, we suffered (ouch) the next day with diarrhea. I can’t remember the countless times we needed to stop to look for washrooms during our trip on the road. Thankfully, one of us brought some diarrhea pills which kept us constipated .. for the next day :|

Pork ribs: IDR 70,000 (approx. RM 24)
Sausage: IDR 30,000 (approx. RM 10)
Chicken drumstick: IDR 25,000 (approx. RM 8)
Wedges: 15,000 (approx. RM 5)

Sosro (Teh Botol): IDR 6000 (approx. RM 2)
Orange juice = IDR 9000 (approx. RM 3)
Watermelon juice = IDR 9000 (approx. RM 3)

We spent about RM 108 for 2x ribs, 3x sausages, 1x chicken, 2x wedges & 3 drinks. Not bad eh?

*Note: When you order orange juice in Bali, you will get Mandarin orange juice, otherwise known as jeruk.
