Mr. T read good reviews about this curry chicken in a bun and insisted that we try it while we were at Port Dickson. I’ve had this dish before, long ago before Restoran Talipon at Kuchai Lama became a steamboat/BBQ buffet. It was really good at Talipon last time that my family & I had it almost every week, so I was hoping to find a similar satisfying experience in PD.
After a long drive out from our hotel, we finally found the restaurant tucked at a corner of a row of shops.
At first, I thought it will be reheated but apparently not. The lady proceeded to cut open the bun and served it to us immediately. We were actually eating cold curry chicken with cold bun.
I found it nothing special – not anything like I had in Talipon 10-15 years ago. The bread was soft but the curry wasn’t so bad. It could’ve been better if the bun had a crunchy texture and the whole dish was served warm.
The curry chicken bun costed us around RM 18-20.
