Damansara Hokkien Mee, Uptown

I heard about the famous Damansara Hokkien Mee (same row as HSBC Uptown) being better than Ah Wa at Jln 222 so I decided to bring F.C. (who loves Ah Wa’s Hokkien Mee) to try out Damansara’s. We were greedy and went overboard by ordering a plate of Hokkien Mee for 3 people and fried rice for 2 people. The serving portions were too big that it should be served for 5 people instead :S

Fried rice, RM 12

Oily and tasteless. I needed the sambal belacan to make it taste better.

Hokkien Mee, RM 18

The artery-clogging meal! There was a great amount of pork lard in the noodle and it was crispy! However, I’ve tasted better Hokkien Mee so this to me (and F.C.) is “boleh-la” but not deliciously great.

Half roasted duck, RM 22

All of us enjoyed the roasted duck but F.C. thinks the sauce was quite salty.

Damansara Hokkien Mee gets packed pretty fast (by 6.30 PM) & the roasted duck sells very well too (4 roasted ducks gone in half hour!). If you’re going for the price and big portions, this will be the place for you. Otherwise, you can always stick to your favourite Hokkien Mee stall.
