Update: Hok Seng has closed down
Dataran Sunway Mentari is a steamboat buffet heaven and most are usually crowded with people fighting for food. I’ve tried each one of them (yes, I did!) but have only been a regular customer of one which doesn’t give me much hassle.
Mr. T & I frequent Hok Seng almost every month. The restaurant is huge, airy and it’s not tight-spaced. Even when the restaurant is filled with customers, we have never encountered queues or impatient people who push you to grab the next best thing they see.
There are snacks available while you wait for your food to be cooked. Their deep fried wonton is very addictive!
They have a large variety of frozen food, seafood, vegetables and noodles. My usual picks are always the vegetables, corn and udon noodles :)
Tip: Always add in all sorts of veggies & corn (I usually put in 2) into your clear soup while it’s boiling for better taste.
They used to serve “sharksfin” soup for each customer but we learned yesterday that they stopped serving it.
It’s RM 23.80 per head at Hok Seng, not inclusive of drinks.
