Stumbled upon Haikara Style Cafe & Bakery via Foodspotting – a quaint Japanese cafe located at the ground floor of E-Tiara Condominium next to Subang Carrefour.
The little cafe was crowded on a Sunday noon where most were enjoying a cup of coffee and pastries/cakes.
Once you’re ready to order, ring the bell. It’s an efficient system, but the ringing sound allowed more noise pollution in the cafe that’s already filled with chattering and knocking of teaspoons against saucers and cups.
Katsu Curry Rice, RM 20
You can choose the spiciness level (1 – mild, 5 – hot) and Mr. T went for level 5, but he was able to handle it (no surprise here). It didn’t come in a large portion as the one at Izakaya Kazushi but I preferred the curry from Haikara.
Chicken Korroke Set, RM 12
Chicken croquettes with butter roll bread. Loved the soft butter bread and the chicken croquettes were marvelous – deep fried on the outside and warm and mushy on the inside.
Eclair Maccha, RM 4
A crispy dessert with caramel, chocolate and green tea cream. Definitely a must-try.
Charcoal Strawberry Roll Cake, RM 6.50
Light fluffy roll that wasn’t too sweet – very likable. If it weren’t for the mains, we’ll probably try out more cakes.
Will return soon!
