The cuisine which I always look forward to have in Singapore is Japanese. Most sashimi and sushi I’ve had in SG for the past few years were always fresh and they make great makis that leave permanent memories.
I chanced upon Koh Grill & Sushi Bar while reading Lady Iron Chef and needless to say, tried it out as soon as I got to Orchard Rd.
This is Patrick – very accommodating, efficient & took good care of our taste buds.
Shiok!!! Maki, SGD 16.80
The first thing he recommended to us was the above maki. Avocado and grilled eel wrapped sushi topped with fire-grilled (in front of your eyes) mayo & salmon and served with huge spoonfuls of fish roe. This is the maki that will change your life.
Katsu Curry Rice, SGD 10
The katsu curry was ordinary – just like what I can get in KL but different in the sense that they actually asked if you would like to have this in either pork or chicken. We normally don’t get that kind of question here, eh?
Unlike other restaurants that had queues all day long, Koh Grill & Sushi Bar wasn’t crowded on a Saturday afternoon. Service was top-notch and it was a great lunch while catching up with my friend. I’ll definitely return again during the next SG trip!
