Fireman BBQ Restaurant, Jaya One

Update: Fireman BBQ Restaurant has closed down

Let’s go out of Bangsar for a while to introduce my all-time favourite type of dining – steamboat!

Mr. T & I were tired of our regular steamboat place (review coming up soon) so we decided to head over to Fireman BBQ at Jaya One. Steamboat and BBQ are a great combination!

There’s really nothing special about the interior. We were really annoyed with their mini screen (placed on the wall at our booth) that continuously played one of One Republic’s song. But we’re here for the food, hey? :)

The hotpot was placed in the center of the table and you can adjust the temperature yourself. I thought they were going to give us lard but instead we got chicken skin – which was a wrong choice because it got stuck to the hotpot and we had difficulties lifting it up.

These were part of our selection from the menu. Unlike most steamboat buffet places, we ordered our choices from the menu and the waiters would bring them to us. That’s what I call hassle-free buffet!

Cooked food was on the menu too – like Wagyu beef and chicken wings which weren’t too bad. I liked the flavourful & clear soup and preferred it over the BBQ because most of their BBQ meat were marinated in black pepper sauce.

The BBQ/steamboat buffet costs RM 29.90 per person and it comes with free flow of green tea. I think there’s dessert but we forgot about it. I’ve read from blogs that there’s a fire-man show but there wasn’t any on that Friday night & I assume they only have it on weekends.

Will I return? Hmmm, I’m not sure. I’m in the middle for this one. I think it’s a no for Mr. T because it doesn’t come with tom yam :P

This place in pork-free.
